Seastar Brachiolaria larva

Location: 100m offshore from Assateague Island, VA. Depths of 7-9 meters. Caught using an epibenthic sled (363 micrometer mesh). June 2009.

These delicate larvae are uncommon, but were relatively abundant in this single collection. They are probably larvae of the common seastar Asterias.
