Collected: Connecticut in summer.


Notes: This crab zoea lacks lateral spines.

The green shore crab, a native of Europe, was introduced to the U.S. at least 200 years ago, perhaps as an incidental part of ship's ballast. It is now common along the Atlantic coast.
